I finally saw the subtitled version, and my only previous viewing was on the Sci-Fi channel's first Festival of Anime.

It fits pretty close to my recollection: a generally fun show. It had some problems, and the animation did seem a bit "off" at times, but generally pretty solid. Before seeing it this time, I was wondering if my memory was poor: one of the other reviewers linked on my comparisons page gave it the lowest rating, while another gave it a rather decent rating. I still put it in the decent category.

There are plenty of better things out there, but this is certainly a classic. It's been around a long time, and still holds up as reasonably fun, even if the plot is rather predictable and the characters tend to stay rather flat.

If you've never seen it, it's worth a viewing. I hadn't seen it in over 5 years, and enjoyed it quite thoroughly.
