This eighth page is devoted to yet another submission I made to the Monthly Anime Character site. This one is of Hiei, from the series Yu Yu Hakusho (or some spelling like that). I liked the series enough, so I decided to try this sketch. In all of my other pictures, I just threw together the background rather quickly (using a gradient, clouds, or simple modifications of a scan). This time, I decided to put more work into the background. I ended up putting more effort into the background than the figure, but I like how it turned out. This was a purely Photoshop and scanner deal, using most of what Photoshop has to offer.

Want to know how I did it? If you're patient, I'll probably put up a tutorial for this image at some time in the far distant future. If not, e-mail me and I'll give you some tips. If I get such a request, I may end up working those e-mail comments into a page.

There were two versions which I really did like, identical but for the addition of a couple of Photoshop-rendered lens flares. I liked the "simpler" image just a bit more, so that's what I submitted. Here's a half-sized version (click on it to get the full-sized version).
